Who am I?

I am the daughter of Dick and Audrey

And granddaughter of Alvin and Sabula

And Leo and Anna

I have a brother and a sister

I’m the middle child—whatever that means

I have called Waterloo, Iowa

Edina, Minnesota

Birmingham, Michigan

Clarkston, Michigan

Old Forge, New York

and Vero Beach, Florid

my hometowns

I sound like a transient but my roots run deep

I’m from the farm and the suburbs

And the lake and the Adirondack Mountains

And the beach lined shores of the Atlantic Ocean

I’m a vegetarian and an organic gardener

And healthy food aficionado

I drink good wine and abhor beer

I’m a daughter, a sister, a mother and a friend

My children are strong and witty and wild and wonderful

And freakishly free thinking—

And they didn’t fall too far from this old tree.

I am a student and teacher of yoga

I live mindfully and consciously in the present moment

My days are filled with laughter and light
