The election was over three weeks ago and I am still trying to come to terms with the result. Others in my circle were absolutely convinced the results would be different but not I. There was something in the wind blowing fear in my direction. And now if I allow myself I would be in a full blown panic. But I am choosing to fight it, for I will not be disempowered. Not now, this is too important.
I try to pull back from the barrage of the media and settle into a peaceful coexistence but this is becoming increasingly difficult as disaster is predicted at every turn. The order of the day is slipping away. How can we peacefully coexist with others whose very stated agenda does not respect the rights of others to simply be and to pursue a life of their own choosing?
When did we become so afraid of our neighbors and the other citizens of the planet? When did we begin to view our neighbors as a threat and filled with evil intent? This kind of thinking reflects poorly on us all as we expose our own dark shadow.
Every time we structure a thought that separates the whole into us against them we add to the shadow and exacerbate the fear. We need to wake up and realize there is no them, there is only us. We are all in this together: Us, Together and We. We need to pull together for we are stronger together than we will ever be alone.
It is time to shine a bright light on what we are afraid of, to expose it for what it truly is, to offer alternatives, for in the light the shadow disappears. We need to reach out to one another in love.
Love, kindness, understanding and compassion are the only cure for what ails us.
Oh and don’t forget to speak your mind. I just did.
